ICC Celebrates 21 Years
On 6th July 2019, Leon Wheeler, MD and Owner of The ICC Group, invited the entire workforce and their families to join his family to celebrate 21 years in the IT industry. ICC is a Yorkshire based company, founded in April 1998 in Wetherby, West Yorkshire and with offices throughout the UK.
The spectacular event was held at the Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa in Skipton, a beautiful setting in the Yorkshire Dales. It was a glorious summer’s day, guests arrived in time for a buffet lunch and pre-activity drinks.
Activities & Spa
Teams were allocated: Alpha, ProLiant & PowerEdge and we set off for some exhilarating quad biking, rage buggy racing and archery. The activities were great fun, highly competitive and of course there was lots of team building and bonding amongst colleagues and friends. PowerEdge were the winning team with top scores in each category – well done!!
Reception & Magician
The evening bash started with a Champagne reception and an outstanding magician! It was jaw dropping magic and he managed to amaze us all with his impressive tricks! A disappearing ring found in his wallet, in a sealed envelope, inside a sealed Yorkshire tea bag packet – how is that possible?!
Speech & Dinner
Leon opened the evening with a very heart felt speech, explaining how the company started 21 years ago leading right through to the present day and looking into the future. He spoke very highly about each and every member of the ICC team who are an integral part of the business.
In Leon’s speech he said, “All of you are part of the ICC family, you’re all fundamental to the business and every single one of you makes a difference to what we do for our customers on a daily basis. This event is for me to show you my appreciation for making ICC the business that it is today – it’s all about team work, where people matter.”
During the meal we were each given 100 dollars to spend on the casino. The room was packed with people crowded round the blackjack and roulette tables – everyone trying to win their millions. Nick Bansil was the champion with $5000 winnings – well done Nick!
Funk Soul Few were a brilliant 6-piece band who had us dancing all night. They were an awesome combination of male and female singers, guitar, saxophone, keyboards, bass and drums. Their set included a great selection of music which kept the dance floor moving all night long!
Sunday – Sadly Home Time
There were some heavy, sore heads on Sunday morning, however, the full English Yorkshire breakfast soon sorted us out before checking out and heading home. We’re all very proud to be working for such a fantastic company and it was great to be part of the celebration. We’re all looking to the future and excited to see what the next 20 years bring. I would like to say a big thank you to Leon, on behalf of the whole team at ICC, we’ve created some special memories and we’re all proud to be part of ICC’s success.
